Taxi driver pleads guilty to sex with a child



A BROMSGROVE taxi driver who had sex with a 15-year-old girl in the back of his cab has been jailed for two years.

Appearing at Worcester Crown Court his counsel, Kristina Montgomery QC, said that the girl had developed a crush on John Warman after he had been engaged to take her to school.

But her mother discovered revealing text messages when the girl borrowed her mobile phone, and Warman was seen by police.

Warman, 28, of Birmingham Road, Bromsgrove, pleaded guilty to sexual activity with a child. He was ordered to sign the sex offenders list for 10 years. A sexual offences prevention order forbidding contact with children was made for the same period.

Michael Conry, prosecuting, said the mother became suspicious after the girl returned home late in the evening of January 23, 2012, and she found the text messages on her phone.

Warman had taken the girl to a wooded area and had intercourse after locking the doors of his cab. He said he was aware she was only 15 but that she had a crush on him.

Miss Montgomery submitted that the relationship was not of his making but conceded that it was not one-way traffic. He wanted it to cease, and should have distanced himself from her.

He was unaware that her mother was worried about her absence. There was a sexual encounter but the girl was persistent and did not have to be coerced. He regretted taking their relationship to a level where he disregarded the disparity in age.

Judge Robert Juckes QC said Warman had let himself be tempted but it was a breach of trust necessary in his job as a taxi driver.

my stance is he did wrong an i hope you understand that

however it clearly says she persued him and wasnt taking no for an answer from the look of it


if you think i aprove of any adult having sex with a child then you are wrong

however rape is when a man forces himself into a woman against her wishes

this is a case of underaged sex an an adult with weak will power and a youth whose horemones have kicked in full pelt by the look of it

i hope this make things clearer to you now as not everything always as obvious as it look an he neither set out to have sex with her nor did he harm her like a typical rapist wood
