Gay Couple 'Thrown Out Of Cab' For Holding Hands London's biggest minicab firm Addison Lee are investigating reports one of their drivers threw a gay couple out of his taxi because they were holding hands. The men had been picked up from G.A.Y in Soho last night. The driver is also being accused of calling the couple an insulting name. The passenger tweeted: "Just been ejected from an @AddisonLeeCabs taxi for being gay. Thanks for the homophobic treatment. "My BF and I got into a taxi from G-A-Y Late. Started holding hands and were told to get out, and called dirty. "Thank you to everyone for your messages of support, they mean a lot. We're home now, after a very nice black taxi journey." Addison Lee have suspended the driver concerned while an investigation takes place. A statement read: “We are aware of an incident involving an Addison Lee vehicle in London last night. This incident is being investigated thoroughly, and the driver has been suspended from duty while the investigation takes place. We are also in contact with the customer to understand more about what happened. "Addison Lee does not tolerate any form of discrimination. Could all be resolved in minutes with CCTV. One wonders why multi-million turnover AL haven't invested. |

Presumably the job was pre-booked? If the guy had an issue with picking up gay people from a gay club - why did he accept the fare? |

As long as they keep their hands to themselves and don't start the dare nonsense of trying to get the one sitting in the front to touch up the driver |
