Posters featuring the home secretary are being used by taxi drivers to highlight licence delays, which they say have left some out of work.

The Licensed Taxi Drivers Association said certificates proving safeguarding checks take up to 10 weeks to arrive with drivers, affecting more than 200.

It wants the Home Office to send certificates directly to Transport for London (TfL) to issue licences.

A spokesman said the new procedure was not the Home Office's decision.

The government spokesman added: "The decision to not renew taxi licences pending the result of checks has been made by taxi licensing authorities - not the Home Office."

Every little advert against this current mob helps.

2015 gets closer by the day.

Been around that timing for the chaps down here too.

Maybe LTDA members need to be checked a little bit more.

Then just register on-line for £15 a year (I think) and print them off as many copies as they want.

£13 per year and the council can then view it themselves online. (I think)

they cant view the original DBS check though, that will ONLY be sent to the applicant, my LA has already said they will want to view the original, after that they get the access to see a message online "no changes"...

When I filled my form out I answered no in the bit regarding previous criminal convictions. The enforcement officer that checked the application told me that I should have put yes because of my previous road traffic convictions. I told her that they were not criminal convictions and would not show up on the DBS. She seemed very sceptical. The DBS certificate came back "none recorded". She had a quick look at the certificate and that was that.
I have registered for the £13.00 per year bit and I believe that Wannabee is correct. They will not see the certificate but just a statement saying no changes.

That is my understanding.
