Some Councils accept HGV licences as a medical and some don't, our Council don't accept HGV licences.

Our council accepted my wife's PCV medical for her taxi badge when the 2 were omly a couple of months apart but the council require a medical every 3 years and i think it is every 5 years for the PCV so it won't happen again for a while.

Depends entirely on your council. Mine won't accept a pcv or hgv medical. Luckily my doctor done both at the same time for a very reasonable price!

I'm surprised you didn't have a medical when you first started, even taking into account your HGV one.

But I suspect your council has a rule that says when you are 45, possibly 50 and 55 etc, you need a medical.

And without it you will lose your license.
