Police hunt after armed man robs Aberdeen taxi driver



POLICE were today hunting a man after a taxi driver was threatened with a weapon and robbed.

The thief approached the driver while he was stopped in a residential street in the north of Aberdeen during the early morning.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “A 52-year-old taxi driver was approached by a male who threatened him with a weapon before demanding money. The victim surrendered a two-figure sum of money to the assailant who then fled.”

The spokesman added the driver was uninjured but was left “extremely shaken”.

The robbery happened on Fowler Avenue in Middlefield around 3am on Saturday.
