Taxi-driving Santa told to kerb decorations on his festive cab
HO-HO... OH! Craig Jones with his fully decorated car.
A MAN who loves Christmas so much that he even decorated his taxi has been allowed to keep some of its many decorations.
For the second year in a row, Craig Jones, 23, trimmed his taxi for the holiday season.
But he was disheartened after a random spot check, during which he was told to remove them by licensing officers.
The letter he received told him he was in breach of section 5a of his licensing agreement, which states among other things that no signs figures, symbols or emblems should be on display in the cab.
However, after a passionate plea, he has been allowed tinsel on his car aerial and a small Christmas tree on the dashboard.
Craig was also given permission to wear a Santa suit when he picks passengers up.
Craig said: "It's ridiculous to have such strict rules about what you can and can't have in your cab,but I'm glad that I can have some of the decorations.
"It's nice to show some Christmas spirit . I did it last year and it's great to see customer's faces light up.
"If passengers want to be picked up by Santa, call Links Taxis and ask for car 200."
