Blaze at Nelson taxi firm

ARONISTS are believed to be behind a fire at a taxi firm in Nelson last night.

Two fire crews were called to A1 Taxis in Rigby Street after the ground floor toilet and store room were set on fire.

The fire service confirmed the fire was suspected to have been started deliberately.

The crews attended the scene shortly after 8pm and battled the blaze for just under an hour.

A joint investigation between the fire service and police is being carried out.

The taxi office was unoccupied at the time.
