Carlisle taxi driver denies rape charge A Carlisle taxi driver has appeared before a judge at the city's crown court accused of rape. Darius Kowalczyk, 47, is alleged to have committed the offence against a female student. Kowalczyk, who came to this country from his native Poland six years ago, was assisted in court by a female interpreter. He pleaded not guilty and was remanded on bail on condition that he lives at his home in Esther Street, Carlisle, and does not contact his alleged victim. He will go on trial on July 14. source: http://www.newsandstar.co.uk/news/carli ... -1.1118547 |

Oh well at least he isn't banged up while he awaits trial and if he's found not guilty lets hope the police don't have their say on his next DBS check. |

The trial of the century is this week - the local paper has a headline of Taxi Driver Raped Me its all over the billboards - but not on the papers website yet! everyone seems to be asking how he was licensed if he needs an interpreter........makes sense why I got an email last week advising the council are considering English language testing
