South Somerset taxi drivers knowledge test plans


TAXI drivers across South Somerset could have to pass a knowledge test of the area if they want their licence.

South Somerset District Council councillors are expected to decide tomorrow night (May 15) whether to introduce the test for existing and prospective private hire and hackney carriage drivers as part of the licensing application and renewal process.

How about an eye test at the opticians, because a doctors eye test on a private medical ain't good enough?
