Taxi flips on its side in crash outside Sevenoaks Station

Image

A TAXI driver managed to escape serious injury despite his car crashing into railings and flipping on its side outside Sevenoaks Station on Sunday morning.

The silver Mercedes was heading into town from the Riverhead direction and collided with the railings along the side of the road before being flipped onto its side shortly after 3am.

The front windscreen was smashed on the driver’s side and the crash caused serious damage to the railings and a bollard in a traffic island. Fuel was also strewn across the road.

Kent Police confirmed the incident was reported to the force at 3.17am and the South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene.

The driver, a man in his thirties, escaped serious injury and was taken to Tunbridge Wells Hospital to be treated for a neck injury as a precaution.

The road was closed for a short time as the fuel was cleaned up.
