CABBIE Alex Chivers was feeling blue yesterday after a council ordered him to remove a Saltire from his taxi.
Dundee City Council told the 61-year-old veteran he would be banned from the road until he removed the flag and the words Scotland the Brave from his Skoda.
They claimed it was a political statement connected to the referendum and he was in breach of regulations.
Alex said: “I am a proud Scot. I couldn’t see what I was doing wrong. I had to keep the car on the road so I had it removed.”
The council said: “The driver was in breach of the conditions of his taxi licence and was asked to remove the image.”
