Yeovil taxi driver who was found almost three times over the limit is banned for 26 months


A Romanian-born taxi driver has been banned from driving after being caught nearly three times over the drink-drive limit.

Radu Florea, 39, of Abbey Road, pleaded guilty to driving after consuming excess alcohol on October 5 when he appeared in the dock before Somerset Magistrates yesterday. Florea produced a breath test which showed 102mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg.

He was banned from driving for 26 months and sentenced to a 12-month community order with requirements for supervision and to carry out 60 hours unpaid work. Costs of £50 and a £60 victim surcharge were also imposed.
