Coun Lancaster told drivers: “Having listened to your concerns I’m willing to increase the 20p rate to 25p.” It is the first rise in taxi fares since 2008 and will come into force on September 29.
Is it any wonder such a rise is required?

But that's not the point.

Punters will see it as a 25% increase, which in fact it is, and the vast majority of those punter's wages have remained stagnant over those years.

The lazy drivers there, and the lazy council, should have increased rates gradually over those years, but it appears they couldn't be bothered.

And now they will lose and p*** off punters big time.
