Aberdeen woman fined after punching taxi driver A WOMAN has been handed a fine after she punched a taxi driver during a dispute about the fare.
Mum-of-two Jenna Taylor, 24, had been on a night out and was sharing a taxi home with other people when a row about payment broke out.
Taylor admitted assaulting Alan Anderson by punching him.
The offence took place close to KFC at the Haudagain Retail Park in Aberdeen, on November 24 last year.
Fiscal Depute Karen Dow told the court: “The complainer in the charge was not known to the accused.
“Apparently the parties had been out and began to walk home in the direction of the Haudagain roundabout.
“At 1.30am the complainer arrived at a flat and waited to pick others up.”
She said that at this point Taylor and another person approached and asked if they could share the taxi.
While in the taxi an argument broke out about payment.
The court heard that the taxi driver became involved and when he got out of the taxi to try and calm the situation down Taylor punched him.
Mr Anderson was not injured as a result.
Sheriff Annella Cowan told Taylor, whose address was given in court as Flat F 23, Logie Avenue, Aberdeen, she would fine her £300.
