Taxi driver beaten and robbed in Reigate attack

A taxi driver has been beaten and robbed by four passengers in Surrey, police said.

The man, in his 40s, was called to collect the group from JJ Whispers nightclub in Reigate at about 01:30 BST.

He drove down the high street and stopped near Morrisons supermarket, where an altercation took place and he was assaulted and dragged out.

The group stole hundreds of pounds in cash before making off on foot.

Surrey Police said the driver was taken to East Surrey Hospital with "serious facial injuries", including a fractured nose.

Any witnesses, particularly a man in a grey jacket and dark trousers who was seen in the area at the time, are asked to contact the force.

Now I doubt he had £100s, but if he did he is a twit of the highest order who indirectly is putting his colleagues at risk.

Why would he not have hundreds on him? A Saturday night shift regularly generates that amount.

Why didn't he put some in the spare wheel compartment? Idiots of the highest order.
