Newcastle taxi driver has conviction for refusing to take a fare quashed by a judge Newcastle taxi driver Mohammed Ramzan appealed against his conviction at Newcastle Crown Court A taxi driver has had his conviction for refusing to take a passenger on a journey in Newcastle City centre overturned by a judge. Mohammed Ramzan, 42, of Kingsley Avenue, Melton Park, Newcastle, appealed against his conviction of ‘fare refusal’ after Newcastle City Council prosecuted him on May 14 at Newcastle Magistrates’ Court.
