Taxi Driver Online

Hi all I was wondering if i could have a price please for a journey from livingston west lothian (the livingston inn) to Edinghburgh (the royal mile) 10am going there and 4.00pm return. The wife and daughter are up there on a shopping trip and ordered a local private hire and got charged £70 return same driver. last year was £40 return including the tip. Just wondering if things have changed fare wise or theyve been taking for a ride and just want to arm myself with a bit knowledge before i phone the firm up.

£40 is ridiculously cheap for a return journey, even for PH, £70 is much more like it...

difficult to say without knowing the companies rates,


whats the distance? 17-18 miles each way or thereabouts?

that sort of distance for PH over here would be about £20 each way but again it all depends on what their first mile is charged at then cost per mile.

As a hack, Edinburgh City Center to Livingston village was a £40 one way charge or £2.00 a mile and that was years ago.

£2.60 per mile x 17 = £44.20 from Edinburgh to Livingston, the price from Livingston might be cheaper

Cheers lads all sorted and seems like they got a cheap ride. last years fare was 40 return but dispatcher said the lads were complaining (really really dont blame them) about the bosses cheap fares so he had to put them up. On the meter should of 88.80 theres no way on the face of gods earth would i reduce it by 18 quid if it was me. if i know them they might get the 80p knocked off the fare. Hope yous all have a profitable xmas

Can only deal with things the drivers want dealt with and unfortunately the vast majority are more than happy with £1.00/£1.10 a mile

Certainly act like it anyway same as they don't mind being trodden over by company owners almost laughable the lack of care from the vast majority
