In theory, we know that getting in unlicensed minicabs is bad news. But sometimes it’s late, you’re tired, it’s raining and there’s a car in front of you offering you a cheap rate to get home. Yep, according to a new survey of 1,500 London women by minicab ordering app Bounce, 58 percent of women have knowingly got into a mini cab without a licence.
Yikes. In fact the rest of their findings are also slightly startling. It seems that younger women prioritise price over safety and women in general very often feel unsafe while waiting for cabs in London. Bounce is trying to raise awareness about the importance of pre-booking a licensed TfL cab (and not just because that’s exactly what their app does!) and trying to show that, as well as being safer, it can be quicker and much cheaper.
