There were screams on Jeremy Vines Radio 2 show, especially about the "next morning" drivers

YOUR STILL DRUNK YA TVATS!

A new law has come into force which makes the legal drink-drive limit in Scotland lower than elsewhere in the UK.

The change reduces the legal alcohol limit from 80mg to 50mg in every 100ml of blood.

Harder to legislate for that kind of stupidity

But here's a plan if you think your OK driving after drinking.
You're not so don't.

What would happen to your UK license if you lost it in Under Scottish law but never Broke any law in England or the rest of the UK?..surely if you did not Break the law in England your entitlement should still allow you to drive there?

Has anyone really thought things through..Maybe being banned only from Scottish Roads for those caught up here in the 50mg-80mg range.?

One of my sons was disqualified from driving in England. Are you saying that he should be ok to drive in Scotland?

Would depend on whether he Broke the Law of the Land or just of England..but if it was a Drink Driving ban then He would have been above the Legal limit in all parts of the UK....that's now changed, Legal everywhere else yet a fail up here.

Here's a Hypothetical one, What would happen up here if say our Puritanical Nitwit politicians Wanted to Ban people for driving for amassing 9 points on their Driver License, and I'd put nothing past this shower!!..would that mean anyone from England on 9 Points be banned from All UK roads...Just Scottish Roads...or would they be exempt from such a Ban?

You'd be banned in the whole UK. :D (Another benefit of the union btw  )
I could be wrong here but I think you'd be banned in the whole of Europe.

Why? :?

If you were banned in Yorkshire for say a 3rd speeding offence, do you think you should only be banned in Yorkshire, England or the whole UK?
Perhaps you should not be banned on The Isle of Mann, which has no speed limits?

BTW if you don't drink and drive, you won't have a problem.

I don't Drink..but I've never seen 80mg as being to high to be safe, who the hells unfit to drive at 80mg?..this is just more crap from the Holyrood Persecutioners..If your not fit to Drive at 80mg then your not much fitter to drive at 50mg.

This will just create Hardship for the next day unfortunates who get caught just above 50mg and below 80mg....

Theres not even a spin off for us guys...the people I speak to say they'll just not drink on a night out or with friends for the fear of being over the draconian limit the following day, hence they intend driving themselves to soirees and back in the future because they are so shit scared of being caught the next day.

Its a good idea - the shame of the matter is the UK government didn't take the lead.

The next day unfortunates? #-o Stupid tvvats would be a better description
Save your sympathy for people who need it.

Most of Europe seems to manage with a 50mg limit. Personally I'd like to see a 0mg limit.
