Unpaid taxi driver took Xmas tree Teenager Jodie Slater had no cash when a taxi dropped her home in Aberporth after a night out - so the taxi driver took the family's 6ft Christmas tree. Mum Angie couldn't believe her eyes the next morning when she went to get the tree to decorate it - and found it was missing. "We put two and two together and phoned the taxi company who admitted the tree was with them," she said. "At first we were really put out but then we saw the funny side!" Jodie, 19, had flagged down the Robins taxi at Finch Square in the early hours of the morning on Saturday. "I realised when I got home that I had no cash and the driver asked for a mobile phones. When we refused he took the tree!" she said. That's actually quite a funny tale. And it appears their are no losers. Girl gets home safely, driver gets paid, tree returns home in time for Xmas. |

I notice the tabloids have used the line Taxi driver takes Xmas tree as hostage - as opposed to drunken girl cannot afford cab fare |

We have a permanent caravan at Tresaith, next to Aberporth. Big story for there! That's my only comment on this story.

Some years ago I dropped a youth off who decided to give it legs into his house and not come back out. I gave it a few minutes before I walked up the path. When I got to the door it was ajar, I looked near the door and there was a brand new pair of trainers. I took one of them because one trainer isn't much use to anyone. |
