Sounds like a bunch of police zealots enforcing the rights of the uninsured non road tax/Ved paying cyclist over that of the motorist who pays through the nose to sponsor and maintain the very roads the cyclists believe should be for them and them alone.

There is no offence of a non bike parking in the bike bit.

Down here we have the most green bike loving council, and anti car civil servants, and even they have confirmed to me on a number of times there is nothing they can do other than warn and shake their fingers.

Bike unit bans taxi driver in argument A TAXI driver was suspended from duty after an argument with police about an alleged offence. Officers from the district’s anti-social bike unit warned the driver that he had entered a cycle box at red lights at the junction of Livingstone Road and Wrose Road, Wrose, Bradford. A police spokesman said: “He denied committing any offence, was found to be in breach of some private hire regulations and was extremely argumentative towards the officer to the point where one of his young passengers was caused upset.” The driver was suspended from driving for the rest of that day and police said he must attend an interview with Bradford Council. The spokesman added: “The driver’s behaviour left us with no choice but to suspend him to prevent further issues. Think it depends where you are in country,I'm sure in some places it can be a fine.I'm not sure "parking" in one is !

There is in London, the advanced stop line is quite widely enforced (unless you're trapped by slow moving traffic) with drivers being required to stop at the first stop line. Even some segregated (solid line) bike lanes are timed by traffic orders.

Therefore no prosecution possible.
