Ross taxi and PHC drivers invited to have say on trade issues

CouncilTAXI and private hire car operators (PHC) and drivers in Highland are being invited to meet with Highland Council’s Taxi/PHC subgroup to share their views on a number of issues relating to the trade.

The subgroup comprises the chair and vice-chair of The Highland Licensing Committee, Councillors Maxine Smith and Jamie Stone respectively, together with another member of the committee, Councillor Allan Duffy. Licensing officials will also attend.

Among the issues which the subgroup welcomes feedback on include: the forthcoming review of the taxi tariff fares; the provision of wheelchair accessible vehicles; and the introduction of ultra-low emission vehicles.

The meetings include one in Dingwall on March 18 at 11am in the Council Chamber, Highland Council Offices, High Street, Dingwall. There will also be one in Inverness on March 20 at 11am at Committee Room 1, Highland Council Headquarters, Glenurquhart Road.

Local access and disability groups have been invited to attend to provide their views in relation to the provision of wheelchair accessible taxis and private hire cars. Any taxi or private hire car operators and drivers are welcome to attend.
