VICTIM: George Murdoch.

A FAMILY is offering a £10,000 reward for information to help convict the killer of a taxi driver who was murdered 31 years ago.

George Murdoch was attacked and killed while he was working in September 1983.

George’s last contact with his bosses was when he radioed the control room to tell them he was going to drop someone off in Culter.

Nine minutes later he stopped in Pitfodels Station Road. No one knows why.

His body was found on the quiet road with his car.

HUNT FOR CLUES: Police search thick undergrowth at Pitfodels Station Road.

Despite witnesses seeing the scuffle, a cheese wire being found at the scene and a man walking into a chip shop wounded with cuts and dripping blood, the killer has never been found.

The family has now spoken exclusively to the Evening Express about the heartbreak George’s late wife went through.

And they have also offered a £10,000 reward for any information leading to a conviction, and described this as their “last chance” to track the killer down and resolve the unsolved murder.

Speaking on behalf of the family, one relative said: “It really worries me that he’s a free man.

“We want to generate a bit of interest and hopefully bring the case to the public’s interest again. Someone might come up with something. Justice should be done. No one should get away with murder.”

Let's hope it finally leads to an arrest.
