Unlicensed Chesham minicab driver fined £2,380 Mohammed Suhail Siddique, 27, of Acacia Road, Chesham, pleaded guilty to driving a licensed Private Hire vehicle without holding the necessary licence.
An unlicensed minicab driver has been handed a £2,380 court bill after pleading guilty to the crime.
Mohammed Suhail Siddique, 27, of Acacia Road, Chesham, faces legal costs, victim surcharge and a fine totalling £2,380 after pleading guilty to driving a licensed Private Hire vehicle without holding the necessary licence.
Siddique was prosecuted at Milton Keynes Magistrates Court on Friday (March 27).
The case resulted from officers of Chiltern District Council’s licensing authority seeing Siddique driving a licensed Private Hire vehicle in Chiltern district, knowing he was not licensed to do so.
Siddique, a former licensed Private Hire driver, had his licence revoked by the council in 2014.
All drivers are required to wear their licence badge prominently when working and have a licence plate on their vehicle and passengers are advised to check that both the vehicle plate and driver badges are present and have not expired before entering the vehicle.
If members of the public have any concerns about a taxi or private hire vehicle in either Chiltern or South Bucks districts they can contact the council's licensing officers on 01494 732 063.
