It is a relief to see a previous thread locked down. It should never have been allowed to continue as it did in the first place.
I would remind everyone who visits this site and that is not familiar with the unfortunate situation with the Edinburgh section of this fine forum that it is basically flawed and continually corrupted by one individuals toxic views. This individual is not a licensed taxi driver in Edinburgh. There will no doubt be those who will come on here and defend his right to free speech bit I am sure most of us will just be glad that the thread has been locked eventually. It should be erased.
Personally I would like to see him incarcerated in the Dungeon tourist attraction in Market Street as a scary example of where the Human Race has moved away from over the years.

Thank goodness that we went through the Enlightenment age.

For some gene pools evolution hasn't been kind.

For the good of the Edinburgh Forum and in the interests of improving the level of debate on here and the sharing of information lets all try and not engage with this Troll on future topics where he drags our trade into the gutter.

The last topic was simply unacceptable in today's world. The cloak and dagger racism shown is just embarrassing. Thankfully this kind of thinking will disappear from society in 20 to 30 years time.

For Skull,

Give it a try Skull as you're beginning to ruin this forum with your bitter repetition.

perhaps there should be a need for contributers to be actively involved in the taxi or private hire trade to post in certain sections

have to admit I find Skull an interesting character and he certainly makes some valid points on our trades albeit in a unusual way. BUT the whole Scottish section is now a wasteland of bitterness and bile.

It's not a popularity contest Mr T. I think we can all agree he's made his point again and again and new points and topics would be most welcome.

I am amazed at the contributors who say that they like Skull or feel that he is intelligent/that he contributes etc.

Throughout the year I refuse people entry to my cab for a lot less than the way that he performs - and that affects my pocket (ouch).....but I do have principles.

Let us face facts; 1. He comes across bitter 2. he does not debate/no one else's opinion counts (you are told/no debate) 3. he claims that he has never lost an argument on this forum 4. he claims that he is of far superior intelligence than anyone else (ha ha) 5. he will not answer relevant questions in response to his posts 6. he is derogative to the trade and the forum 7. last but not least, he is racist in his comments - and people like someone like that!!!

He is allowed to use the CN racist slang - the rest of us have the linked word "s h o w i ng" blanked out....what exactly is going on? Unfortunately it would seem that some people are blinkered into having him as entertainment value. It can be nothing else as there is no debate involved, as for anyone else with a track record like his, then they would be outed.

However as a compassionate member of the human race; I would propose that until he can learn to be a decent person, with us doing our part by taking into account that he is lonely/probably does not have a friend in the world ,then I would delete ALL of his racist comments. In fact if I had my way I would delete his account and freeze the contents.

Having said that I am not completely heartless; I would (as part of his terms of rehabilitation) allow him to open a renamed account and make him start again (to be strictly monitored), at the bottom of his page there should be an (obligatory) "Be nice - it is not difficult" slogan/whatever, just to remind him not to revert back to his bad ways.

I don't particularly dislike Skull or anyone else on the forum. it is the vile, unacceptable in normal society, language used by him. There are many words that the forum censor will take out that are far less offensive such as [edited by admin], [edited by admin] and [edited by admin] but words that are really offensive are allowed.
