Foxtrot26 wrote: can we change it to cablemmings. probably just as apt and keeps everyone happy I don't think Les understands the meaning of the word - racism. Cab****er is more than adequate when referring to taxi drivers. "cablemmings" yeah... I see where you are coming from but Cab****er has a certain ring to it and let's face it, it pi**es the Cab****ers off on this forum no end...

I have a feeling that his vocabulary is limited... I have a feeling the word Cab****er fits being a taxi driver like a glove. None of you have any rights to speak of and nearly four-fifths of your trade has no political say. Economically, Cab****ers have to work a ridiculous amount of hours to pay a stipend to an overseer to gain access their tools just to prop-up his pretendy business. Oh and socially, you can't have a life when you to have to live in cab in order to earn a decent crust. It's not my fault the word fits. You bought, it you wear it.

Associating the CN word with those who are socially, economically and politically denied, commonly known by the N word (no matter the colour of skin) is equally insulting, to associate Cab Drivers who have choice and a means to invest, freedom to work an amount of hours of their choice, freedom to offer an opinion or proxy that opinion is wrong, it's simple s--t stirring. |

MR T wrote: In a past life ...Do you see yourself as a southern plantation owner. No. Cab*iggers are the property of the council. And as I have stated many times before, if you are denied unfettered access to the tools of your trade and you have no rights or political say and you have to pay someone a stipend, then you are a Cab*igger. You could make the argument that at I was a slave overseer but at that time, there were far more shifts available and the rentals reflected the market rate and not the scarcity value of licence plates. Oh but as a driver I was definitely a Cab*igger. I know what it is to have no political voice or any rights to speak of when faced with an allegation from a member of the public. And your council knows that, for all intents and purposes, you are their property and can treat you according. So owner or driver, you are still a Cab*igger.

The man who spends his free time "sorting out the chaff from the weed" writes: Quote: 1. I own my own cab. You don't own any cab until you paid off the HP and even then, it is a depreciating asset which inevitably has to be replaced to keep you in a job. Quote: 2. I obviously own the plate, the value still being intact. No one legally owns any plate. It is the property of the council and is therefore is owned by the public. It has no intrinsic value and is non transferable by law. Ask your council? Quote: 3. I pay no office fees whatsoever - save the L.A. licensing etc And???? Quote: 4. I work when I want to. No you work because you have to. Quote: 5. I start when I want to. whoopee!! Quote: 6. I finish when I want to. Another Whoopee!! Quote: 7. I do not have Mrs Mc/whoever telling me that I have to walk her dog at a given time. No!! She is probably out on the game because she has to support you Quote: 8. I have an income that keeps me very happy - much, much higher that dog walking. Aye so you say but not working forty hours a week you don't... Quote: 9. The sh!t (oh by the way "sh!t" is a term" ) gets kicked out of the cab before/during. No being a Cab*igger is doing a shi* job, working shi* hours, picking up shi* people. Quote: 10. I have the penultimate in flexy time. You have to work like everyone else and you don't make money in the taxi game without working long shi**y hours, picking up shi*!! Quote: 11. I can ramp up my earnings or dumb them down to suit. I'm sure you can and working long shi**y hours to do just that. Quote: 12 .I take a day off whenever I want.....nobody owns me. A whole day?? Now that must make being a Cab*igger all worthwhile. Quote: 13. I do not physically have to pick up the excrement of others ![]() No that's because you are excrement and probably couldn't tell the difference.
