A taxi driver was taken to hospital after a serious road accident in Allerton. The silver Hackney collided with a tree and a wall after leaving the road in Menlove Avenue, near to the junction with Druids’ Cross Gardens Fire crews, police and paramedics were called to the scene at around 4.20pm. Firefighters stabilised the vehicle and used equipment to force open the driver’s door. The 38-year-old was taken to the Royal hospital by paramedics. His condition is not currently known.
