Police appeal after taxi driver assaulted in Ulverston POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a taxi driver was assaulted in Ulverston. Cumbria police said the assault happened on bank holiday Monday in North Lonsdale Road. The incident happened at around 11.40pm near to the junction with Cross Lane. Cumbria police said the male taxi driver had picked up the man in King Street in a Kia taxi. The man was driven to North Lonsdale Road where the assault happened and he made off without paying. Police said there were no injuries.
