MOHAMMED RAHMAN: 'RAPE? NO, SHE RAPED ME.'

An Uber cab driver accused of forcing a barmaid to have sex when she could not pay her fare told the Old Bailey today she raped him.

Mohammad Rahman, 34, said the woman jumped into his car at the end of a night shift and begged for a lift home.

He is accused of tearing off her clothes and raping her in a lay by when she could not pay him for the ride home.

But married Rahman said the woman forced him to have sex against his will and it was over in just two seconds.

The Bangladesh-born cabbie, who moved to the UK in 2006, said he considered reporting the incident to police, but could not face the shame of what had happened.

'I never wanted to do that as I have a wife at home', he told the court.

'My religion wouldn't allow me to do it, mentally I didn't want to do anything.

'I had no taste to do anything.'

He said he had threatened to call the police if the woman did not get out the car but she said she would scream if he did not have sex with her.

'At that time, she was leaning on me, she said: 'You came so far and you need to get something', he said.

'She said why are you showing attitude, I paid so many times like this.

'I didn't force her, she forced me.

'I was shocked about what was going on.'

Asked how long the sex had lasted, Rahman replied: 'Two seconds' adding: 'I had no taste to do anything'.

He told the jury: 'I was thinking I will go to the police station and report it.

'But I felt so bad and so ashamed, what would I say? How are I going to say to the police that I was forced by someone.

'So I didn't go to the police.'

Rahman is accused of raping the woman, who cannot be named, when she asked for a lift home after a night out drinking with colleagues at the London Fields Brewery in London Fields, Hackney.

She described herself as 'beyond drunk', having sunk nine pints and shots of tequila and whisky, and discovered after getting into Rahman's Toyota Prius cab that she had lost her bank card.

She told the jury Rahman initially tried to persuade her to go to a hotel in Kings Cross, and told her: 'If you can't pay cash you will have to pay me some other way.'

When she refused, Rahman drove to a lay-by in Hammersmith, west London, pulled off her clothes and raped her against a wall, it is said.

Rahman said he had been working for Uber for six months before the alleged attack on September 8 last year.

He said he was finishing his shift just before 2am when the woman jumped into his car in Mare Street, Hackney, and begged for a ride home to west London.

Rahman said he initially refused, but relented when she cried and said she had no money to get a taxi.

'I said I'm not allowed to take you, my licence does not allow me to take people who have not pre-booked', he said.

'She begged and cried "please help me, please take me home".'

Rahman said the woman had already tried to hail a black taxi, but no one had agreed to take her.

He said he stopped briefly in Kings Cross and suggested to the woman that she could get out and find a cab driver who was still working.

When she refused to get out, he said he continued until she asked him to pull over in Hammersmith.

He said she touched his back in the car and grabbing his chest, telling him: 'I will make you happy, come here I will sort it out'.

'She was offering me sex', said Rahman.

'I didn’t have the intention like this, I didn't think like this.'

He said when he pulled over, the woman took his phone away, then removed her t-shirt and bra off and pulled down his trousers while leaning against his chest.

She told the jury Rahman had forced her to perform a sex act, then had rubbed her breasts 'really weirdly'.

Rahman told the court this never happened.

The court has heard Rahman dropped her off at her ex-boyfriend's house after the alleged attack, and was arrested three days later.

He refused to answer police questions, apart from to tell officers he had a good relationship with his wife.

Rahman, of Bunyan Road, Walthamstow, denies two counts of rape.

The trial continues.

I find it very hard to believe anyone that can remember so much after drinking 9 pints + shots of Tequila and Whisky.

Does anyone remember Joyce McKinney?

Only on legit jobs. If it wasn't an UBER job then he wasn't working for UBER.

He was/is a Uber driver, it wasn't a Uber job.

Not sure what's complicated about that.

He was touting work.

There you go then, he was a tout. UBER don't employ drivers so he wasn't an UBER driver.

RAHMAN: 'SHE RAPED ME,' SAYS UBER CABBIE, AND HE WALKS FREE

An Uber cab driver accused of forcing a barmaid to have sex when she could not pay her fare walked free from court today (Fri) after telling jurors she raped him.

The woman had drunk nine pints of beer as well as shots of tequila and whisky before hopping into Mohammad Rahman's car in Hackney, east London.

Rahman, 34, who had been working for web based cab firm Uber for six months, agreed to take her to west London, despite it being the end of his shift.

He was alleged to have stopped his Toyota Prius car in a street in Hammersmith and forced her into sex, telling her: 'If you can't pay cash you will have to pay me some other way.'

But married Rahman, who moved to the UK from Bangladesh in 2006, told the Old Bailey the woman forced him into sex, and he was ashamed of the incident.

A jury cleared Rahman of forcing the woman to give him oral sex during the alleged incident, on September 8 last year.

But they were deadlocked over the allegation that Rahman had raped her.

Prosecutor Ailsa Williamson today (Fri) announced Rahman will not face a retrial after the complainant refused to give evidence for a second time.

He was accused of tearing off the alleged victim's clothes and raping her in a lay-by when she could not pay him for the ride home.

But Rahman insisted the woman forced him to have sex against his will and it was over in just two seconds.
