Caergwrle taxi driver found dead with shotgun wound



James Kenneth Knight, of Caergwrle, was found dead in the garden of his home with a shotgun lying close by

A taxi driver was found dead in his garden after suffering a shotgun wound to the chest.

The firearm was discovered close to the body of James Kenneth Knight.

An inquest into the death of the 58-year-old of Robert’s Croft, Derby Road, Caergwrle in Flintshire was formally opened today.

The incident happened on June 28.

Assistant coroner for North East Wales, Nicola Jones, sitting in Ruthin, said: “The matter was referred to the coroner because of the circumstances surrounding Mr Knight’s death.

“He was found with a gun near him and had an open wound to the chest area.”

A post mortem gave a cause of death as shot gun injury.

Mr Knight’s body was identified by a friend.

An inquest into his death has been adjourned to a date yet to be fixed.

Some years ago a lad round here loaded his shotgun placed both barrels his mouth and let both barrels go. All over work and a woman.

Twenty years ago a local taxi driver with money problems topped himself, within a few weeks his dad passed away, and left £300,000.
