Minicab driver appears in court charged with attempting to meet underage girl for sex

A Middlesbrough taxi driver has appeared in court charged with attempting to arrange a meeting with an underage girl for sex.

Nawaz Zadar, of Jedburgh Street, central Middlesbrough, appeared at Teesside Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

The 23-year-old was remanded into custody and the case was sent to Teesside Crown Court to be listed on August 10.

A spokesman for Middlesbrough Council said: “The authority can confirm it has suspended the licence of a Middlesbrough private hire driver while a police investigation is carried out.”
