Shocking moment two Uber drivers start fight in street over clipped wing mirror - before passenger gets out and joins in brawl

Brawl began after Uber driver caused another minicab to clip wing mirror

Drivers were arguing in the street when passenger got involved in dispute

Violence erupted and a brawl ensued in the traffic in Islington, London

This is the shocking moment an Uber driver came to blows with a passenger during a furious street fight over a clipped wing mirror.

The violent road rage row was sparked sparked when a minicab driver tried to cut in front of another Uber driver's BMW - causing the vehicle to damage its wing mirror.

Both drivers began arguing in the street before one of the taxi's angry passenger's joined in the fight.

The Uber customer and his driver were filmed tussling in the traffic in Angel in Islington, London this morning by an appalled passenger.

Seb Bench, who was on the way to a meeting with a client, was stunned to see the well-dressed passenger throwing punches at the driver.

'My guy was obviously angry and there had been pushing and shoving in the first round. But the [other passenger] was full-on aggressive,' he told the Evening Standard.

The 'aggressive' man was then seen throwing the driver to the ground in the shocking fight.

After their earlier dispute, the driver of the other car intervened to break up the fight, along with a passerby.

'I didn't think it was going to get as feisty as it did. I was in an 'Exec' Uber, a deluxe one. I did not expect this to happen,' added the 43-year-old PR boss.

The brawl fight comes after Black Cabs criticised Uber over its 'lack of proper regulation' of private minicab companies.

Licensed Taxi Drivers Association (LTDA) drivers have complained they are losing earnings as a result of private hire cars and apps such as Uber, which they allege are not being subjected to the same licensing rules as black cabs.

A spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Police said they had no record of the incident being reported.

An Uber spokesman said: 'Uber has a zero tolerance policy to violence from both riders and drivers on the platform and we have reached out to those involved to get more information.

'With all incidents of a serious nature, it's our policy to suspend all parties from the platform while we investigate.'

The fight was believed to have broken up shortly after the footage ended.
