Hi I'm in desperate need of some help to find the following information and any advice you can offer will be most appreciated. How can I find out how long a private hire taxi driver has held a licence, the dates when the licence was renewed ? I know the drivers taxi licence number, full name address etc. also will I be allowed to have copies of the dates or are they confidential? Thank you for reading and any help. Julie x |

Julie x I would suggest you ask the person yourself as you have all his personal details. If you have a complaint against the driver then send a letter into the relevant authorities |

When he gets his badge he'll have a sheet of A4 from the Council for him to give to the operator. If you know the Authority he's licensed with phone them up and ask them the expiry date of his licence. They can't refuse the above because it's in the interest of public safety. |

Thank you so much for your reply, I know when the licence expires as I checked on the .gov but will the issuing authority be able to tell me when he first applied to become a taxi driver and the number of times he has renewed his licence over the course of 12 years ? Also I know the issuing authority is Newham London do I contact the council or Court ? And would such information be available online. Thank you. Julie x |

If you can't get the info with a phone call use a freedom of information request. |

Julie x Seems a rather unusual request, why in heavens name would anyone other than the authorities be interested in someones first date as a Licensed Taxi driver. |

Newham don't issue taxi or private hire licences; these are all done by Transport for London. |
