A bus lane enforcement camera will become operational from Monday 03 August 2015 at the Shore. The camera is located at the Sandport Place end of the Shore and the eastbound bus lane operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Only buses, pedal cyclists and emergency service vehicles can drive in this lane. Taxis are not permitted to use this bus lane.

The Council’s protocol states that after a bus lane enforcement camera site becomes operational there should be two weeks of issuing warning notices and a further week to allow for their delivery prior to Charge Notices being issued.

Two types of high visibility advisory signs will also be erected at either side of the bus gate; one will state when the camera will become operational, that is Monday 3 August 2015. The other will act as a warning and have the text ‘bus lane camera ahead'.

Regards
City of Edinburgh Council

How hard did the taxi trade lobby against this?

Would it have made any difference if they had tried, CEC hates all Vehicle types unless they be Tram, Bicycle or Bus..If your not running one of those three modes of transport then to CEC your the Devil Incarnate to that shower.

Reply as the government regard taxis are public transport, we will be ignoring the rule and using this lane as normal

Then ignore the Fine, the reminders, the resulting court case and then your Hack licence being withdrawn for your consistant failure to abide by the local bylaws...would'nt it just be easier to stay out the bus lane?

Skippy when are you going to accept that if there is a traffic order in place, you can't do as you like.
