So much for Liverpool delaying their license.

Uber have a Sefton License at the moment ! but can legally work Liverpool as DELTA have done/do

Quote:
Uber has a licence from Sefton council but its drivers can operate all over Merseyside, including Liverpool city centre.

The company has applied to Liverpool council for a license but is still waiting approval.

If successful it means private taxi drivers licensed to Liverpool council would be able to drive for Uber as well as those licensed to Sefton, meaning a bigger pool of drivers for the company.

Mr McGonigle said: “We’ve been in conversation with Liverpool council for about ten months in the application process.

“That conversation is continuing and I am hopeful we’ll acquire that licence in the not too distant future.”

A spokesman for Liverpool council told the ECHO no date for a licence hearing for Uber has yet been set but one will be arranged “as soon as is practical”.

I understand that, which makes it even more daft Liverpool holding up their license based on scaremongering by the Liverpool black cab trade.
