Taxi drivers get warning over parking

TAXI drivers in Colne have been spoken to after complaints there were vehicles unattended and not moving down the rank.

During public questions at a meeting of Pendle Council’s taxi and other licensing committee earlier this month allegations were made that drivers were leaving their vehicles at the rank on Market Street.

The taxi licensing manger said that all taxi badge holders had been spoken to about the matter.

As a learning exercise after the town’s recent rhythm and blues weekend could see taxi marshals employed at major venues.

The possibility of stewarding taxis and those waiting to board them at Colne rugby club is explored.

The committee considered a report requesting the removal of the age limit of licensed vehicles. However they decided that no changes would be made.

drivers can take half an hour sometimes to pull down on our rank but the councils answer is always pull round them but if you do you get a load of abuse and a complaint to the police of racism
