Uber's new big idea

http://observer.com/2015/09/uber-pitche ... ongestion/

Was an old idea that was known as cab share

It didn't work then and won't work now

But why :?:

I'm thinking they are shi-ing themselves as using the term rideshare isn't washing with the regulators, like all cabs on the road Uber cars aren't going anywhere until they are booked, rideshare is a car term if two or more passengers including the driver are heading in a similar direction, they share the cost, uber drivers don't share any cost, they receive a payment in the same way as a cabbie does, uber receives the booking through its app, driver accepts booking, nothing unique here, I say they can't be allowed to use the term rideshare, its miss leading

Cab Pooling as it should be called shows up Uber for what they are, extreme capitalist's without a concern of regulators and established transportation strategies, their technology isn't unique either it's different but other similar apps do the same thing, why support them when we can support local apps attached to an established circuit, I include Gett as well, they too are owned by venture capitalist's, let's stand firm here and show these buffoons the door to our trade is closed.

In Edinburgh the vast majority will stick together, we will as done previously keep out the profiteers, just hope the whole trade sees it as we do, it's an individual's trade, let's stand up to the corporate's =D> =D>

Do these apps give you a hardfast price before you book or do you not know until you pay what the price is?

Promoting the corporate profiteers Flower, that sums up your career

Like Comcab, Gett can never provide the reliability co-ops provide, another FACT

We can live with the minority though but can they live with us

These Apps are simply worth avoiding, once they have you they'll squeeze the life out of you, as is happening in London, FACT

Seems to me that they are squeezing the life out of lots of drivers whether they work for them or compete with them..I'm pleased I live out in the Sticks where people do things the old fashioned way and where Client/Supplier loyalty is not a forgotten trait.

As I work there, you'll have to explain how Gett's squeezing the life out of me?

Its gaining me more work from the opposition than I've ever known.

Gett work mainly on the meter, they have the fix fiver promo which the customer pays a fiver and the drivers fare is worked out by computer at 75p per minute which means a possible £45 an hour.
