Dundee taxi marshal plans to be investigated after cabbies pay thousands into scheme Some taxi drivers are unhappy thousands of pounds were put into the scheme without a member of staff being hired. A national watchdog is to investigate Dundee’s failed taxi marshal scheme, The Courier can reveal. Drivers have been forced to pay thousands of pounds into the service despite Dundee City Council’s inability to hire a single member of staff. The local authority is understood to be making one final effort to secure marshals before considering refunding the money levied. Before that can happen, however, the Scottish Public Service Ombudsman will intervene to scrutinise the council’s actions.
