Its the closest he will come to being a London cabbie.

In saying that though, and popping on the anorak head for a moment, when the Austin FX4 was first launched in the late 1950's, a 'private hire' version was also launched minus the roof pod, flip down seats and the partition. Image

It seems that if condition 181 is removed then 46A will have to be removed also, If the same type of vehicle is licensed as a taxi AND PHV then we might be forced to remove the 'for hire' from our vehicle and sell it as a PHV as, frankly, we need the sales to ensure the continued viability of our business.

i know a few on here dont have that high an opinion of PH.
but i was one and there is no way any of the lads is going to buy one of them.
some wont even if a taxi plate came free with it. :D

Sell the TX2 as a PHV!!!???

They must be joking, no one from the PH side would touch it with a bargepole, we only buy it because we have to.

Ditto areas where saloons are operating as taxis - not a huge amount of people queueing up to by TXs. He's either totally clueless or a bit dishonest.

I saw an amazing sight in Reading on Thursday night - a Q reg Austin, it left me standing, a marvelous sight.

LTI are taking Leicester to court, because . . . . . . . . . . their monopoly has been taken away!

They must be running high in the popularity stakes. :?

Funny thing is, I was in a Leicester Taxi garage on Monday, and when I asked about ten different drivers about this case, not one had any idea there was a court case...
