Wokingham mum's Facebook warning after daughter sexually assaulted during taxi ride Mother warns about the dangers of taxis after her daughter was sexually assaulted when trying to get home from a night out in Wokingham on Saturday morning A concerned mother has warned others about the dangers of taxis after her daughter was allegedly sexually assaulted on Saturday. An anonymous post on Facebook community page Wokingham Gossip Girls claims the woman left Spin Bar in Denmark Street, Wokingham early on Saturday morning and got into a waiting taxi on Elms Road. The post describes that when she got into the taxi she "was faced with three Asian men" who she told where she wanted to go. The Facebook post claims the taxi, a silver BMW, drove off in the wrong direction and carried on doing so despite five requests from the woman to stop. The mum continues: "The passenger in the back started touching my daughter and made sexual requests." When the car stopped along Finch Road the woman fought her way from the car, punching the passenger and kicking her way free. Once out of the car she ran to a nearby house and the police were called. The mum said to other taxi users: "This is a serious crime and I would ask you to tell your young ladies to please be careful and vigilant when getting into a taxi. "Ask to see their badge and call the fare into their base. "Please don't let this happen again." Charlotte Redman, spokeswoman for Thames Valley Police, confirmed the incident was reported to the force. She said: "The allegation is that the victim was sexually assaulted over her clothing at about 2am on Saturday. "The victim left the vehicle and sought help from a member of the public. The matter was then reported to Thames Valley Police." Officers investigating the claims have asked anyone with information to contact the Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 101 or independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org. source: http://www.getreading.co.uk/news/readin ... r-10286557 |

Perhaps they should have pointed out the dangers of staying in a vehicle that had 3 strange men in it |
