Taxi drivers asked to stop pouring urine on road outside Charing Cross station


Taxi drivers were asked to stop pouring urine on to the road outside a central London train station during the summer of 2015, it has emerged.

Network Rail, which manages the capital's Charing Cross terminal, claimed the habit was leading to complaints from customers.

On a poster placed by the station's taxi rank during the summer months, drivers were informed: "It has been reported and seen that some taxi drivers have been emptying uring filled containers onto this taxi slip road.

"Those responsible are politely asked to stop this antisocial practice.

"The smell is causing complaints from our customers and staff, especially during the summer months.

"Please speak to station staff who will give you access to the accessible toilet to empty your container if required."

A Network Rail spokesman said the sign had gone up during the summer, and came down "very recently".

He added: "This was a particularly unpleasant issue for our station staff to deal with but, thankfully, it has now been resolved.”

And there was me thinking the London boys had the best provision of any of us for rest rooms etc.

Well their cars are their offices and an office is required to have a restroom.
