But cab firms in High Wycombe say the proposal is "unfair" to their drivers. Faraz Khan, a spokesman for Tiger Taxis said: "I think it's absurd. It's taking away people's right to earn money

Load of rubbish if you can not earn enough money for yourself doing normal hours you are doing the wrong job. How would he like it if he found out the pilot on his next flight had been working for 14 hours straight.

In Swindon it seems the norm for someone who is renting their car from the operator plus thier radio - you will have to do 12 hours, possibly 14 hours per day, 6 days a week to make a decent living!!

Not sure about other areas, but maybe Swindon drivers are being charged more for car and radio, but not sure.

How about others?

I spoke to someone recently who was boasting he has done 23 hours straight.

Don't think he will be speaking to me again for quite a while now. Image

well the guys in Swindon have had dereg shoved down thier throats. so of course they will have to work longer.

funny thing is you guys seem to be obsessed with plate premiums all the time.

have a look at the Sheffield thread, thier it clearly shows the numbers before and deregulation, and its not as simple as TDO's grasp of mathematics.

So all those extra drivers coming into the trade in Sheffield are all buying £30,000 motors to sit around scratching their bums.

Or just maybe they know a little bit more about their manor than you. :-s

umm nope they dont know that much more, you see they have the "herd" mentality, they think driving a HC is the be all and end all.

only thing is when the trade has mushroomed, the reality has set in.

Well why are more joining the trade if that's the case?

Or could it be that drivers themselves are deciding what's best for them. As opposed to stupid councillors, backed up by stupid unions. [-(

"stupid" to you maybe, however everywhere where the market has become a free for all, people are suffering.

even the guys on the PH circuit are complaining are complaining about too many cars and not enough work, go figure.

told you - people think the grass is green on the other side, people like you i believe.

So in the 70% of the country people are suffering?

And no-one is suffering in the 30%?

You really haven't a clue. [-(

But then they should leave the trade. No-one owes us a living.

Why is this trade so different to any other? :?
