Swansea mother's warning after daughter locked in taxi following a night outA SWANSEA mother has issued a warning after her daughter was locked in what she believed was a taxi, as she was making her way home from a night out.
The mother, who does not wish to be named, said her daughter got into a white Audi, which she believes was posing as a taxi, as she was making her way home on Friday night.
She said the car had been parked by the Vue cinema, on Park Street, Swansea. The woman said when her daughter got into the car the driver locked the doors, before driving around the back of Princess House.
In her warning, she said: "Please, please be careful on your nights out when getting into taxis - somebody very special to me got in a car last night.
"It was a white Audi posing as a taxi. He locked the doors drove around by Primark and back to Princess House, where he told her "he wasn't going anywhere until she did something for him"."
But the woman said another taxi saw what was happening and helped to girl to get out of the car and get home safely.
She added: "She was struggling to try and open the doors when another (genuine) taxi pulled up and witnessed it - the scum bag realised this and let her out.
"I would like to give my heartfelt thanks to the real taxi driver who got her home safely and phoned the police."
