Pointless rise in cab fares IT HAS come to my attention that the council is planning to increase the Hackney black cab taxi tariff. I cannot believe that they are even thinking about this when passengers are already paying above the private hire cabs' fees. Once again, the people of the borough being hit with increases for no valid reason. Having spoken to several Hackney cab drivers it is my understanding that even they do not want this increase. If Wirral Borough Council is not making a profit on this increase, what exactly is the point in the proposal?
