Rebrand for Welsh taxi companyDragon Taxis is to be rebranded following the decision by parent company Veezu to bring together its Welsh taxi businesses under one banner.
Newport-based Veezu will roll out the new Dragon branding across its Welsh taxi firms including Radio Cabs in Bridgend and Dragon Taxis in Newport as part of its formation of a South Wales regional taxi hub.
The company's character logo, which has been a feature on the roads of Cardiff for more than 20 years, has been replaced with a new logo, focusing on the Dragon brand name.
Ryan Owen, general manager of Dragon Taxis, said: "Across all three of the Veezu-owned taxi businesses in Wales, there is such a significant amount of heritage as the businesses have been operating in their communities for decades.
"To date, the firms have had different names or branding and we recognised the need for consistency. The new Dragon brand reflects a modern, forward thinking and professional organisation, which is a move away from our localised image and reinforces our growing regional presence."
Paul Ragan, chief executive of Veezu, added: "The launch of Dragon across Cardiff, Newport and Bridgend is an exciting time for the business and reflects the investments that have been made to bring the firms together to ensure a consistent offering to all of our customers across south Wales.
"Operating as Dragon, which has clear synergy with the location of the business, we have a 900-strong fleet in south Wales, moving in excess of 6.5 million passengers a year."
