15-pint boozer’s £660 court bill for £8 taxi fare

A Mansfield man was landed with a £660 court bill after he punched and kicked a taxi following a dispute over an £8 fare.

Scott Lazenby, 23, of Newlands Drive, Forest Town, admitted causing criminal damage to the Ace-ABC taxi after a 15-pint boozing session on February 28.

Robert Carr, prosecuting, said: “He became argumentative and aggressive. He said he wasn’t going to pay because his friend had already paid the fare.”

He punched a window and kicked the rear of the Ford Focus, causing small scratches and dents, the court heard.

Lazenby, who was not represented in court, said: “I am truly sorry and it won’t happen again.”

District Judge Tim Spruce ordered him to pay £582 compensation and costs of £85, at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

There is also I'm truly sorry, actually i'm not truly sorry at all I'm only truly sorry I got caught and that I'm here and also I'm "truly sorry" because my solicitor thinks it might sit well with the judge who'll reduce my fine and save me more shite than I would get if I let you all know I'm not sorry in the least and the likelyhood is I'll get pissed and do the same to some other poor smuck and then i'll need to go through whole bloody "Im truly sorry" malarky all over again.

OK...

His brother is his dad and his sister is his mother.
