For weeks there's been talk of UBER getting up and running on the Wirral and drivers wondering what sort of effect this will have on the other circuits... and indeed on the local hackney trade.

Now though, we have news of DELTA gaining a Wirral operators license at the end of last week and I'm wondering if this could be bigger news than the arrival of U know who?

DELTA now has its 'full house'... a license to operate in each of the Merseyside boroughs (Sefton, Liverpool, Knowsley, St Helens and Wirral).

For years the word on the street has been 'when DELTA come over here the game will be finished'. Well now it's time to find out.

(DELTA website announced the new license last Thursday).

I have not seen 1 uber on Wirral yet!! i think majority who joined the Wirral are working Liverpool, or they are driving around here with no signs on the side doors just plated cars!

They share the same office building as uber and will undoubtedly operate in a similar way

DELTA has expanded into many areas. trying to find drivers. I noticed there a quite a few uber from sefton operating in liverpool. maybe uber is impacting on their work. also, DELTA wants all of their drivers to take bank cards.

They seem to mainly be recruiting in Knowsley...as the knowledge test has been watered down to nothing.

They've started the leaflet drop in Wallasey, Wirral this week. Drivers have noticed that they are all Sefton plated vehicles covering the work. This must be a real bind as they have to pay £1.70 to get through the tunnel. It seems that the telephone number is that of their Sefton office, even for Wirral customers, so they must be sending it via their App as a subcontract if they have any Wirral drivers but nobody has seen any yet.
