It is worth reminding everyone of how long and hard the journey against leukemia is. Oscar is the little lad that inspired my son Mark to do his 1/2 ironman a couple of weeks ago. He is not finished yet. This weekend he is doing another 1/2 marathon and the following week he is doing a 70 mile cycle race. 3 years ago when Oscar and his parents were given the devastating news that Oscar had a very aggressive form of leukemia they were told to prepare for the worst and believe me there were a few times during the journey that everyone thought the time had come to an end. There were 15 children in the ward when Oscar began his treatment and the other 14 did not make it. This shows how difficult it is to beat this illness but Oscar has done it.
A massive thank you to the members of this forum who have sponsored Mark. He has raised over £1,600 so far.

It is a video of 5 year old Oscar ringing the end of treatment bell at the hospital. He is now classed as a "Normal" boy who can now do anything that everyone else of his age does without the fear of getting an infection which could kill him.
