tariff 2 every time, no problem at all, will cover the cost of the cleaning & time off to do it, that's what they get mobility allowance for anyway, transport costs "cough" :wink:

The Mobility Allowance is a means tested monthly payment payable by the Health Service Executive (HSE). It is paid to people who are aged 16 and over and under age 66, and who have a disability and are unable to walk or use public transport and who would benefit from a change in surroundings; (for example, by financing the occasional taxi journey). If an allowance is awarded, it will be continued beyond the age of 66 but you may not apply for the allowance if you are aged 66 or over.

some of these get £700 + per month ( & yes i have spoken to them) but moan on about paying extra? not right imho, if a "able bodied/ normal vision " person messed up my car they would be asked to pay for cleaning & they don't get any allowance??? so, you wanted to be treated the same? , well you will be in my motor, blind or not, although i would have said" it wasn't me & ask her to describe the driver" :lol:

"Taxi" driver refused to take blind woman and her guide dog over fur fears A taxi driver has been fined over £1,000 after he refused to pick up a blind woman and her guide dog, because he didn’t want to get fur in his car. Nadim Afzali left mum-of-one Laura Bonehill shaking and in tears after he drove away from her and six-year-old Golden Retriever Falcon as she tried to return home last November. By laws, taxis – along with buses and trains – must accept guide dogs unless they have a medical certificate to prove that they are allergic to dogs. But when Afzali arrived in Ruislip, the Alpha Cars driver refused to take Falcon, and shouted ‘no dog, no dog’ before banging his hands on the steering wheel. Laura then attempted to tell him the law, but he immediately attempted to drive off. She then phoned Alpha Cars and told them that their driver was legally obliged to pick her up, but heard him moaning about the decision to his boss. She then attempted to get in the car once more, but as she did so, Afzali shouted ‘no dog’, and drove away once more. Laura was left in tears and was eventually picked up from Ruislip High Street, West London by her dad. Afzali has now been ordered to pay costs of £895 and a victim surcharge of £150 after he pleaded guilty to not letting a dog in his car, but Laura believes that the punishment is too lax. She said: ‘I was very very shaken up afterwards. What the law says about guide dogs in taxis According to GuideDogs , The Equality Act 2010, and the DDA 1995 in Northern Ireland, place a duty on taxi and minicab (private hire) drivers to carry guide and other assistance dogs at no extra cost. Drivers that cannot carry assistance dogs will carry a certificate of exemption confirming they have permission to refuse on medical grounds. Sections 168 to 171 of the Equality Act 2010 deal with the carriage of guide dogs and other assistance dogs and England and Wales. (In N Ireland the provisions are in Section 37 of the DDA 1995. The requirements are effectively the same.) ‘This has happened to me before, but never this bad. I still go out in taxis, but I always use people who I know. ‘It is stressful enough going out as a blind person with a guide dog anyway without having to deal with the ignorance of the general public. ‘It is worrying to think that this happens to other people who may not have as much confidence to deal with it.’ In a statement, Transport for London said they had succesfully prosecuted ten drivers, three operators and one company director for refusing to take assistance dogs in the last year.
