Hunt continues for attacker who stabbed 72-year-old taxi driverEnquiries into the stabbing of a 72-year-old taxi driver in Grimsby are continuing, police have confirmed.
As reported, Ron Farmery suffered injuries to his neck, chest, arm and stomach in the frightening ordeal on Vivian Avenue at around 1.25am on Tuesday, July 19.
Mr Farmery, from Cleethorpes, had his dark blue Ford Mondeo, mobile and cash stolen by an armed man.
But he has vowed to carry on with his taxiing - vowing not to be beaten by the thug.
The car has been recovered and is undergoing forensic examination to see if there are any links to known criminals.
The ordeal began in the early hours of Tuesday when Mr Farmery picked up a passenger from a rank in Cleethorpes Market Place and headed to the Weelsby Road area of Grimsby before the incident unfolded.
Humberside Police said the suspect is described as being of medium build, 5ft 8in tall, with short brown hair, a dark coloured coat and a local accent.
Anyone who can identify the man or has information about the incident are asked to call 101, quoting log number 32 of July 19.
